3 Reasons Mousepad Thickness Doesn't Matter
Wrist angle comes from keyboard height and palm rests The 2–5mm difference between mousepads is too small to affect your wrist angle while typing. That angle is determined by your keyboard height and whether you use a palm rest.
Mouse height matters more than pad thickness For gaming, your wrist angle depends on the height of the mouse relative to the desk surface. Switching from a thin cloth pad to a thick gel pad changes that by only about 3mm.
That small difference won’t cause or prevent injury A few millimeters of pad thickness is not enough to meaningfully change your wrist position. Focus on your mouse and desk setup instead.
