3 Reasons Combined Monitor Riser Mousepads Fail at Ergonomics

  1. They force your mouse arm into a bad position Your elbow needs to be at about 90 degrees with your forearm parallel to the floor. A riser lifts the mouse several inches higher, making you shrug your shoulder or bend your wrist back to reach it.

  2. Your arm is not a screen The riser is meant to get your monitor at eye level, which is good. But stacking a mousepad on the same platform treats your arm like it also belongs at eye level—it doesn’t.

  3. Keep the mouse on the desk If you need a riser, separate the two jobs. Keep the mouse on the desk where it belongs, not on the riser.
