Luna Island Walk to the small piece of land between the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. Most tourists never make the left turn off the main walkway, so you get a front-row, mist-in-your-face view without the crowd.

Stone ledge near Cave of the Winds The path just north of the Cave of the Winds entrance pavilion has a stone ledge that looks straight up at the falls. It is usually empty because everyone is lining up for the elevator.

Visit after 4 p.m. Tour buses clear out by late afternoon. Go after 4 p.m. and you can have Luna Island almost to yourself.
