Kraftwerk 1 (1970) This debut album was experimental and improvisational, lacking the precise electronic sound the band later became known for. Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider considered it a false start.

Kraftwerk 2 (1972) More structured than the first but still reliant on traditional instruments and tape loops. The band felt it did not represent their true artistic vision.

Ralf und Florian (1973) The final pre-Autobahn album, featuring longer, more abstract compositions. Hütter and Schneider refused to reissue it, treating 1974’s Autobahn as their first legitimate record.
