16GB vs 32GB RAM for Photoshop: 32GB is the real sweet spot for large files

16GB is the floor, not the ceiling — if you’re opening 300MB+ PSDs with lots of layers, you’ll run out of RAM and hit the slower scratch disk. Going from 8GB to 16GB is a big jump, but 32GB cuts the wait further for those big files. Make sure your scratch disk is a fast SSD with free space, or extra RAM won’t help.
